ADMISSION AS ADVOCATES (EXEMPTION FROM TRAINING

AND EXAMINATION)
RULES, 1965
S.D. 3917, dated
5th December, 1965-WHEREAS on account
of diverse circumstances caused by the emergency, particularly in the
border States, difficulties have been experienced by persons who obtained their
degree in law from any University in India in an examination held during the
year 1965, as well as by barristers who were called to the Bar during that
year, in undergoing training and passing an examination as required under cl.(d) of sub-section (1) of Sec. 24 of the Advocates Act,1961 (25 of 1961).
Now, therefore, in
exercise of the powers conferred by cl.(d) of sub-section (2) of Sec. 49A of the said Act, the
Central Government here by makes the following rules, namely:
1.These rules may be called the Admission as Advocates (Exemption from Training
and Examination) Rules, 1965.
2. Every person who
has obtained a degree in law from any University in India on the results of an
examination held before the 31st day of December, 1965, and every barrister who
was called to the Bar before such date, shall be exempt from undergoing
a course of training and passing an examination as
required under clause (d) of sub-section (1) of section 24 of the Advocates
Act, 1961 (25 of 1961).
